Flash Banner Generator

Nick Bostic | February 10, 2008

Okay, I’m comfortable with Flash and know how to do a lot with it.  But sometimes you just need something quick and easy, like the banner at the top of my page.  I could spend the time playing with it, launch it, like it for about an hour then want to change it.  Directly in Flash, that’s not so easy or fast.

So I bought Anim-FX honestly not expecting too much (the price was actually too low), but was thoroughly impressed.  Lots of options, super easy to use (even for someone with no clue about Flash or programming) and free upgrades as more effects are created.  They also have provided excellent follow-up service, even on the weekend.

They have a free download and the full product is only $27 (as of the time of this writing).  If you are the type who wants to spice up your web sites, this is the product for you.

NOTE: Wordpress implementation is a little bit tricky, if you have problems, feel free to let me know.  Also, I spent about 12 hours of continuous work trying to get it to show up across all of my pages with no luck.  If you know how to make it work, please let me know.

Great tool and a good price. I didn’t know it existed, I just started reading and I’ve learned something useful already!

I’m glad you enjoyed! I try to design smart and when I realize that someone else can enable me to do something faster and easier than I can for a reasonable price, I’m willing to bite the bullet and just do it. This was definitely one of those instances.

to make it work on wordpress just insert the code in the header, it will show across all page. But it also depends on your permalinks type. if you have complicated permalinks it will be difficult.

Unfortunately “just insert[ing] the code in the header” didn’t work. I spent several days working with the Flash banner developer and the Wordpress community at large trying many different methods. My permalinks are one of the more common ones (nothing custom), but it just didn’t work. Maybe it will now on 2.5, but I’m happy with the way it looks so I’d rather not waste my time.

aha… maybe you’re right. I tried it on 2.5 and it works :)
